What is Gelato? Gelato in Italian literally means "frozen". Gelato does not contain as much air as ice cream, making it more intense in flavor.
The history of Gelato dates back to the 16th century, where it was introduced by a native of Florence. Being one of the first to introduce Gelato to the public was Sicilian born, Francesco P. Dei Coltelli who was one of the most influential individuals in the history of Gelato.
